How often should my solar panels be cleaned?

A: This really depends on your geographical location.

When they installed our system they said it was maintenance free,
so why do I need to clean them?

A: PV Systems are, but the panels on the roof will get dirty over time. This will significantly lower the ability of the
panels to capture sunlight which will decrease the amount of electricity generated.

My installer said don’t bother?

A: Unfortunately some solar installers are new and there are many inexperienced installers out there. It is a scientific
fact that dirty panels block the sunlight and less electricity is produced. This is why companies like SolarCity,
SunEdison and SunPower recommend at least 1 annual cleaning a year. Some area's they say require more cleaning to
maintain proper productivity.

They said the rain will clean the panels?

A: Yes rain will wash some of the loose dust off. Heavy debris such as bird and animal droppings, salt crystallization,
dirt and mineral residue will all require cleaning to be removed. This is why every panel is scrubbed and rinsed with DI
water.

How often should i get my panels cleaned?

A: The recommendation for cleaning frequency is every 3 months in many parts of California, Nevada and Arizona.
However; the worst case should be every one time a year. The priority is to get them functioning at their optimum
levels.  We can have Quarterly, twice a year and one time contracts available.

Will cleaning my panels void my warranty?

A: No, regular cleaning and inspections of your panels will protect your solar system and is recommended by the
manufacturers world wide.

A: No, as we do not need to enter your home we can complete the cleaning when no nobody is home.

Do the Solar Panels need cleaning early in the day?

A: Actually the heat and sun light helps our spot free rinse dry quicker. Our methods have been used in 115F heat         
with no problems at all.

Do you turn off the grid for the cleaning?

A: No, never. Are process will not interfere with your production. In fact it is kind of fun to watch your output increase
as we clean them.

Why should I have my panels cleaned?

A: A average increase of 19.8%. Now convert that into $avings.

Can I hose my panels down?

A: Yes, you may hose off your panels.  Hard water build up may become a problem. This is while our process includes
scrubbing and rinse to remove hard buildup.
